The ceremony was graced by His Excellency Mr. Hattori Masaru, Honorable Consul General of Japan, Karachi, as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Dur-e-Naz Jamal, Honorable Secretary, Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA), attended as the Guest of Honor.

The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthems of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Japan. Mr. Ghulam Abbas Badami, Patron-in-Chief, Muhammadi Welfare Foundation, delivered the welcoming address in which he highlighted the history and humanitarian journey of Muhammadi Welfare Foundation. He emphasized the importance of promoting voluntary blood donation and announced Muhammadi’s next mission to establish a mobile blood donation drive van, aimed at expanding outreach and ensuring the availability of safe blood, particularly in underserved and interior areas.
While addressing the gathering, His Excellency Mr. Hattori Masaru congratulated Muhammadi Welfare Foundation on being selected under the Government of Japan Grant and appreciated the organization’s dedication and services. He spoke about the strong friendship between Japan and Pakistan, stating that such collaborations reflect mutual trust and shared humanitarian values. He acknowledged that Muhammadi Welfare Foundation has been doing commendable work in the field of healthcare and blood services.
In her address, Dr. Dur-e-Naz Jamal, Secretary, Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority, stated that the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority is continuously working to strengthen safe blood transfusion systems across the province. She acknowledged Muhammadi Welfare Foundation as an important stakeholder of the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority and the Government of Sindh Health Department, particularly for its role in safe blood transfusion and thalassemia prevention, especially in interior Sindh. On the occasion, the Guest of Honor presented a shield to the Chief Guest.
During the ceremony, Ajrak was presented as a souvenir of Sindh to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honor, and Ms. Akiko Abbasi, Representative of the Consulate General of Japan, Karachi, by the team of Muhammadi Welfare Foundation, including Mr. S. M. Sikandar Rizvi, Finance Secretary, Mr. Sabih-ud-Siddiqui, Board Member, Mr. Zia-ur-Rehman, Legal Advisor, and Mr. Syed Zia Hassan Rizvi, Deputy Finance Secretary.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the inauguration of the CBC analyzers, the Chief Guest and Guest of Honor proceeded towards the laboratory. The technical team, including Dr. Maeesa Sajeel, Executive Medical Director,  Professor Dr. Muhammad Akbar Agha, Consultant Pathologist, and Ms. Sammar Fatima, Laboratory Manager, provided a detailed briefing on the CBC analyzers, their usage, and clinical importance. The team explained how these analyzers enhance diagnostic accuracy, reduce turnaround time, support early detection of beta-thalassemia major, and strengthen thalassemia prevention, while being offered at maximum welfare rates despite the high cost of such advanced testing.
Following this, the guests visited the Thalassemia Center, where children suffering from beta-thalassemia major warmly welcomed the guests by presenting bouquets, reflecting compassion, hope, and the humanitarian spirit of the occasion.
